POST DIPLOMA IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY
INTRODUCTION
Accident prevention reduces losses and improves productivity, Ensuring safety and health of industrial workers is the responsibility of the management. The services of qualified safety officers are necessary to assist the management in planning, implementing and monitoring accident prevention programs.
THE COURSE
Gujarat Safety Council conducts Post Diploma Course in Industrial Safety since 1989. It is a two years part time course with an intake capacity of 25 students. The medium of instruction is English. The Course provides comprehensive education on industrial safety with emphasis on the academic as well as practical aspects. It is designed to provide in-depth knowledge in Industrial Safety, Health and Environment. It covers seven compulsory subjects and one elective subject. This course is recognized by Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Gujarat and the certificate is awarded by Technical Examinations Board, Gandhinagar.
Eligibility for Admission
M.E., B. Tech. or Ph.D
OR
B.E (Any Discipline)., or M.Sc. with Chemistry., Physics, Electronics or Environment
OR
Diploma in any branch of engineering or technology or B.Sc. with Chemistry Physics, Electronics, Environment and relevant industrial experience of 2 years or more.
The experience shall be counted after acquiring the requisite qualification & should be as under:
The experience should be in manufacturing, maintenance, safety department of an Industry or working as professionals.
Experience in research, training or education in the field of safety or environment or engineering or technology.
The applicant should be working in a company located within 30kms. of Vadodara city.

CERTIFICATE COURSE IN INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT
THE COURSE
The Council has designed this course on Industrial Environment Management which runs as part-time evening program to enable the working employees to undertake this course. Considering that industry being one of the main sources of environmental pollution, the course is structured keeping in mind the requirement of Industry. The main objective is to train Safety Personnel working in industries to enable them to deal with the day to day environmental problems and to take its remedial measures. Further they can also play a better role in the Hazardous Waste Disposal & Treatment Projects.

To impart training the learned faculty is drawn from Reliance Inds. Ltd., Gujarat Refinery, Paramount Pollution Control, Vadodara, Other industrial Organizations etc.
